after reading that post about the complete American Girl collection that someone wanted to sell and was trying to figure out how much to ask, I decided that I would add up everything that I have to see how much I have spent over the years. Plus it's really really quiet here at work. Apparently it's too nice outside to come into the library! Anyhow my website was down (again ) and Curt's doesn't list prices, so I was only able to add up what i had that was still avaliable. The amount (which I know we can't post $$$ here) was stagering. Especially since these are just the things that you can buy now. I have all of Lissie's colelction so there's a lot I Wasn't able to add in also all the old AGT clothes from the past 10 years probably 90% of what I have for AGT is not still avaliable. I also didn't add in the books.

Anyhow, I was thinking based on this fun little bordom fighting experience, that this person's collection will be worth well over $10,000. Especially if she has all the furniture. I don't have lots of the funiture which is the most expensive. And especially since items like Felicity's retired things, and Josefina's piano are worth so much alone.

So whoever knows this woman tell her to add up everything she's purchased. Hopefully my site will be up again as soon as I get home tonight. I'm also updating the PDF downloadable guide so those of you who want to check the guide when it's down can have a back up. I also finally fixed most of the links and updated the search tool on the main page so that it includes all the new dolls that have been introduced since the search thing went it. Watch for the new PDF in the next few days!!

p.s. everything is going great with the pregnancy. I can't believe that I only have 3 1/2 more months left. I really can't wait to meet my little girl! She's kicking away right now and it's relaly just so exciting. I think she gets excited when I go to the AG site!

Thanks for all the work you do on your website. It is such awonderful resource. Wow! Only 3 1/2 months to go. Has it really been that long ago that you were telling us you were expecting? You sound like you are very excited and your little girl is going to have a wonderful home.

    Meg,

I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your site. My dd's and I have been fans of AG since the beginning, and I've really enjoyed reliving alot of things via your info.

I know you have loads of info already (and, as you said, your web site isn't up right now, so I can't tell if I'm offering something you have), but if you would need any info, I've been working on a spreadsheet, complete with order codes and prices. It's taken me a few months working off and on, going thru old catalogues of mine and such, I have most of Felicity's collection including prices from 1996...

Just thought since you've been so helpfull with your web site, if there is any way I can help...

    Wink

I learned the hard way (while I was in my building and furnishing dollhouses phase) to keep a log of everything I buy for a particular hobby. So I have several spreadsheets: one for items sold by Pleasant Co./AG, one for items bought other places for my AGs and a long one that includes everything I've made for my AGs in clothing, using current prices for similar items sold by AG as a baseline. If I had saved all the money I spent on or for AGs, I would have had the downpayment for my house!

You're brave Meg - I don't even want to think about how much I spent during the Code era, let alone over the last 10 years. I'll definately download the new pdf; I use the old one all the time to check eBay prices. Thank you for maintaining such a wonderful resource for us!

Congratulations again on your new little AG fan-to-be!

    - Becca
